Age Spots and Brown Spots
Also known as sun spots, liver spots, or lentigines, this condition is a consequence of aging and sun exposure. These discrete flat brown areas usually appear on the face, chest, hand, feet and back as a result of sun exposure. Irregular dark patches that develop on the face in response to pregnancy, hormones or sun exposure are called melasma.
The most effective and rapid treatment for eliminating these spots is laser therapy. Dr. Silberzweig uses the latest in office-based laser technology, the Cutera excel V and the Cutera enlighten laser, for treatment of age/brown spots.
Multiple treatments are typically required, in conjunction with a sun protection program.
